Lampard and Cole Have Earned Their Place

Mid fielder Adam Lallana strongly believes that Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard still has a major role to play at the World Cup happening this summer, whether or not they are a part of England top eleven. Cole and Lampard are pretty much under pressure in order to get hole of a place on the aeroplane to Brazil, regardless of the fact that both has passed the hundred cap mark.

Roy Hodgson, the English Coach has already declared that while picking hid final twenty three men for the World Cup, he might need to leave some biggies out as well. Hence this Cole-Lampard duo from Chelsea seems under major threat.

Left back Ashley Cole has been idle from Chelsea for a little more than a month’s time has chances of facing tough competition from Luke Shaw and Leighton Baines for his position in the top 23. Meanwhile Adam Lallana may replace Lampard in the midfield.

The twenty four year old midfielder Lallana however feels that this duo can significantly strengthen the team and hold a vital role because of their past experiences in Europeans Championships and World Cup.

Stressing on the topic Lallana added that, he will be very pleased to have Ashley and Frank in the team as with so much experience to share, the young lads not only gets inspired by them but also gets effective guidance for the new comers, when on the field.

.The ability and experience speaks for itself, which is enough reasoning, why they should be on the squad for the World Cup. Whatever they have to provide to the team is added bonus.

Both of the players have 100 caps if not more, with a wonderful career graph. He stresses that it will be very tough to get in the squad but all the teammates are much supportive in this respect.

CONCERNS ON TIME

The 2014 World Cup is 5 months away from beginning as it is scheduled to initiate on June 12 but as the time approaches, concerns and doubts keep on emerging with the president of FIFA, Sepp Blatter saying that Brazil is the host nation that has enjoyed having 7 years to get ready for the worldwide competition but still are far behind.

Blatter told Swiss newspaper 24 Heures on Monday that Brazil “is the furthest behind of any host country since I’ve been at FIFA and moreover, it’s the only one that had so much time – seven years – to prepare itself. Brazil has just realized what it means to organize a World Cup”.

Brazil already missed the deadline of December 31 which was the date that FIFA had appointed for the stadiums to be clear and ready but after going through a number of issues that range from financial problems to construction accidents on the actual stadiums, all of these incidents have delayed Brazil from being on time with the World Cup that edges closer and closer.

Even families living in Brazil are protesting against the decisions that FIFA as well as the country are making towards the implementation of the World Cup. Veronica Maria da Silva and her husband had to evacuate their home of Camaragibe from where they have lived for over 30 years.

The property is being appropriated by the city of Camaragibe in order to make room for an expanded urban transit hub; it’s just 1 of the many infrastructures and constructions that is being rushed to be completed before the World Cup begins.

The family is unable to buy a home and will be forced to rent somewhere where they are able on doing so. They did get a compensation for their house but they insist in saying that it is just not enough to buy or get another place to stay. According to Elias Ignacio, the father of the family he went to an independent assessor who valued their property at 440,000 reals which is around $185,000 but then were given just 150,000 reals.

SCOLARI WANTS COSTA

Brazil national team manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has revealed that he wants to use Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa for the national team. Costa is a Brazilian who is playing for the Spanish club. After being relatively unknown in the last few years, he has managed to announce himself in style this season. Following the departure of Radamel Falcao in the summer, many expected that David Villa would be the number one striker at the club. Costa, though, has broken all expectations by scoring 13 league goals this season.

This tally is only three behind Cristiano Ronaldo, who is regarded as one of the best players in the world. Costa has also scored more league goals so far than Lionel Messi, who has won the FIFA Ballon d’Or award in the last four seasons. There have been rumours that Costa may decide to play for the Spanish national team. Brazil, though, do not have a quality striker, which is surprising since the national team has always had some of the best in the world like Ronaldo and Romario. After much speculation about Costa’s international future, Scolari has confirmed that he would like to pick the 24-year-old for the Brazilian national team.

Costa is eligible for both Brazil and Spain.

“Diego Costa will receive the opportunity to be called up for the World Cup. The first striker is Fred, who is injured, Diego is the second striker and I’ll have to find a third one. I intend to take him to the World Cup. If the tournament was today or tomorrow, he would be in the squad. I will call up the player for the games next month against Honduras in Miami, and Chile in Toronto,” said Scolari.

Brazil have been doing well since the arrival of Scolari, as they recently won Confederations cup.
